The Regiment of Happy Blowers

The Regiment of Happy Blowers was founded in 2009. At that time the orchestra consisted of 8 clarinetists, 2 saxophonists and only 3 trumpeters. Since then, the orchestra has grown and currently has over 50 active members in all instrumental sections. Over the past years this ensemble has played many different genres of music - typical Czech marches, Czech folk songs, several classical pieces, famous film music, etc.

Although the orchestra was founded in 2009, it has already achieved several great successes and participated in interesting projects. One of them, for example, was the second place in the national competition of wind orchestras held in Letovice in 2014. In 2016, 2017 and 2020 the orchestra won the "golden band" in the middle category at the "International Festival of Wind Music Prague". In 2017, the orchestra also won the "Special Award for Soloist".

In 2016, the WASBE International Conference was held in Prague, which the orchestra also participated in.

The orchestra holds regular concerts at the Central Library in Prague and at the Culture House in Beroun. In addition to regular concerts, the orchestra had the opportunity to play in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum.

From its foundation to the present day, the orchestra has been led by conductor Svatopluk Št'astný.
